CAP's rubber coated plates are 12-sided to prevent rolling. This is particularly useful in garage gyms where the concrete has a 1 degree slope towards the door, or in any gyms where the floor is not perfectly level.
The 45, 35 and 25lb sizes have grip holes for easier handling to avoid injuries when carrying the plates to and from the rack.
Of special note is the steel insert, similar to the design of bumper plates, to make the plates slide smoothly and quietly on any bar sleeve, including sleeves with those tiny ridges.
